So.. I haven't sewn a thing in over 7 years, and today I tried to make a cloth clutch. It went well, except over 7 years I seem to have forgotten how to sew a straight line, and layer fabrics properly.
Nevertheless, I am proud of what I made today, I think its wonderful, whether the fabrics it is made out of clash or not :)
So there is my first "successful" project completed after not sewing for 7 years!
Now to keep practicing so I can start to make my own cloth diapers and other various baby items and things for mom (like this clutch)
Ciao for now!
I have many passions! Photography, makeup and fashion being my main ones. I am an artsy fartsy gal. And here is where I will have updates on my photography, my makeup and all the crafty things I love to make and sell! Also updates on just..life!

I just dropped $100 on cloth diapers!!
11 cloth diapers for $100! that's less than $10 PER DIAPER (which they are usually in the $20-$30 range!) That's a deal! I am totally excited to give these Kawaii diapers a shot, ordered a couple different kinds from this site: http://www.theluvyourbaby.com/
I also ordered 9 diapers for my sister and our total TOGETHER was $114 including shipping!
Now I didn't get all of my cloth diapers here, I also got a couple from http://hyenacart.com/ .
So in total I have spent about $170 on fluff today I ordered a total 18 pocket or AI2s for that price! Maybe it's because I'm Canadian.. but I'm impressed!
And that is IT for MONTHS no more fluff spending!! Time to make my own diapers now that I have several different kinds to get inspration from ;)
*says in head* "I swear to not order anymore diapers for at least two months"
and repeat.
Have a nice day all and enjoy fluff hunting!!

Starting my own line of baby items and clothing!
This is a project in the making... and I am so excited!! I can't wait to get all the supplies I need to really get going! All Things Adored and More on Facebook will soon be moving to Hyena-cart and possibly Etsy as well!
Once I get going in the things I want to make such as:
This is my work area so far... Don't Laugh! Working on a budget here! lol
Soon, I will have a more organized and 'fuller' looking work area, as I will have more fabrics and other materials :)
Until next time!
Once I get going in the things I want to make such as:
- Bows, tutus and hair bands for little girls
- Customized onesies, and baby t-shirts
- Cloth diapers, wipes and wet bags
- Assorted baby clothing, toys and blankets
- Woman's fashion clothing once I get more experienced!

Making Bows- Butterbean Boutique
I have a very close friend, she is like my older sister! Well she has a 20 month old, and twins that are about 5 months old! THREE girls all under 2?!?! She's deserves a little gift! So I ordered her some handmade bows from a friend of mine, whom I had met off of a lovely website called Baby-Gaga .
Her boutique is called Butterbean Boutique <<link here.
And the lovely bows she made for my sister's three girls are so pretty and EXACTLY what I described to her! (Which was a pretty vague description I might add heh.)
My sister's favourite colour is green, so ultimately there HAD to be green, an the pink, because she has three very pretty princesses!
Like her facebook page, and if you like her bows, they are not expensive at all! Very durable and so precious!

FREE Cloth Diapers?
I just started cloth diapering, and so far, I LOVE it! Yes, it is less convenient than disposables. But don't even get me started on the crap in disposable dipes! So far I only have a 2-day stash of pre-folds..so when I stumbled upon this contest here on Mother of A Sale Facebook Page , I went nuts! The contest ends TODAY so I really hope I got my entry in fast enough! If they are still taking entries you need to:
- like the page
- comment on the discussion board with your entry
- then comment on their wall saying "MOAS I want to win the $250 cloth diaper set!"
- blog about it!
Photography AND Makeup? Oh My!
So this is it. A Canadian stay at home mom who wants to do it all! Yup! that's me! I love all things beauty and art. And if I did have all the time in the world... I would never limit myself, but that is not the case, as I have an infant who needs the majority of my time and attention :)
Above is when I had just got my new (to me) Nikon D70 and was testing a few techniques! I hold the shudder button down half-way until what I am focusing on becomes shapr and the rest is blurry. I love that affect, and it is the first, and eaiest one you will learn! Next up? Some Macro pictures of water droplets on flowers and such! Can't wait!
My beautiful camera, not bad for starters, and got it used :)
I called my little sister, and asked her to come over so that I could do a mimi-photoshoot with her. She is such a fun-loving individual I really wanted to capture her personality! We did cute poses, I got her to jump in the air "glee style" and threw a bunch of stuffed animals at her! It was a ton of fun, and here are just a few, of what we were able to come up with together.
I am also a makeup artist and I love it! The name of my business is Love That Funk. How did I come up with that? who knows, as I stated previously.. I'm random!
And here is some of my work:

My Labour and Birth Story- Vincent Peter Charles
I think it is about time I post one of these! I will start from the very beginning.
On November 14th, I was admitted to the hospital for pre-term labour at 35 weeks 5 days. My contractions were every 4 1/2 min, and I had dilated to a 2 and was 90% effaced. The next morning, after 14 hours under the watchful eye of the hospital staff, I was discharged. Still contracting, but no progress had been made so they didn't need to keep me. They wouldn't stop my labour, but they wouldn't encourage it either.. I was stuck.
The next day in the evening I was contracting every 2 minutes and they were painful, so I went back to L&D, and still no progress and was sent home. The next few weeks were the same, my contractions ranging from every 2 minutes to every 15 minutes.. but they NEVER stopped. It was hell. But I was happy my lil' man was still baking.
At my 39 week prenatal visit with my doctor, I was checked and was 3 cm dilated and had my membranes stripped for the second time. We talked about induction, because the prolonged latent labour was really starting to take a toll on my body. He booked me for an induction on Thursday, Dec.9, but since it wasn't considered an emergency, the hospital couldn't take me because their induction list for the day was already full. Same thing the next day.
On Saturday, I got a call from the hospital to come in and get a non-stress test done, because they still couldn't take me for induction, but wanted to make sure the baby and I were ok. I went in around 4:30-5pm and after about 15 minutes of the nurse trying to find a regular heartbeat and not being able to (she said he was playing with his cord) she told me my contractions were coming every 7 minutes, and checked me for dilation.
I had dilated to a four!!! YAY PROGRESS! It was then she decided to admit me, and called my doctor for orders. I was given my room, and started on pitocin right away, and thankfully, they had this thing that they hooked me up to and it allowed me to walk freely. Within 20 minutes, my contractions were much closer together about every 2 minutes, and much stronger where it was very hard for me to walk or talk through one.
6:30pm came, I was checked and was 5 1/2 cm dilated and my doctor came to the hospital and he broke my water. There was a TON of fluid! Immediately my contractions got extremely strong and very shortly after, I got my epidural. Not too long after getting the epidural I was checked again and was already 7cm!!
Next thing I knew I didn't want to do anything, I couldn't talk, I didn't want people touching me, everything was a blur, and I felt like I needed to push! The nurse checked me and I was 9 1/2 cm dilated! Everything was going so fast! She got me to do a couple pushes while she stretched my cervix around the baby's head to a full 10cm.
My doctor came back just in time and I was already pushing! I have no idea how long I was pushing for, but it didn't seem like very long at all.. hakf an hour AT MOST.. but seemed much faster than that!
I got to feel his head as it crowned and I cried, my baby boy was minutes from being born! My wonderful husband and mother were at my side, telling me they could see his head and how great of a job I was doing.
Vincent Peter Charles M. was born on Saturday December 11th, 2010 at 8:57pm! He weighed 8 pounds 11oz and was 22 1/2 inches long! He was (and still is) absolutely perfect. holding my baby for the first time was the most amazing experience ever. I will never forget it.

This is a first!
So my first real blog! This shall be interesting! Let's see if I can keep it up!
I have many passions, and you will find I like to vent about random things, as I am a random person. Do not be alarmed! I still have a small amount of my sanity left!! So I am sitting on my chair, the computer is right in front of me and believe it or not, I am nursing my son as I write this...all while trying to figure out WHAT to write about.
I guess I should start with a bit about me huh?
Well, My name is Lindsay. I was born in Kitchener, ON and yes... I am still here. I am a makeup artist, an aspiring photographer AND fashion designer. Hey! It's a working progress.. and who said you can't do what you love to do, even if that is multiple things?
I love to make things...once I get my sewing machine working, I will post about the things I love to make and possibly give free patterns as well!
I am 20 years old, married, and have the most adorable son and couldn't be happier! My husband is amazing, but I will spare you the details that explain why he is so great...don't want to cause my reader to throw up from too much "corny love" heh.
My son's name is Vincent Peter Charles M. As of today he is 2 1/2 months and is the apple of my eye. He was born on Dec.11th 2010 at 8:57pm after a very fast active labour. I will post my labour story after this :)
I am currently working on starting a business from home, where I can be home for my child(ren) and still bring in my share of earnings and feel proud that not only am I a WAHM (work at home mom) but that I worked very hard to get to that position. That is my ultimate goal.
Ciao for now!
